LeRoy’s public recreational swimming pool is now open for the season.
This is the second year of operation for the pool after a two-year layoff. Last year, 6,230 people used the pool located at Wildwood Park on Munson Street. It offers adult swim periods, swim lessons and fun water activities for the family.
“It’s just a great service to the committee," Town of LeRoy's recreation director Jackie Whiting said. "It provides the safety issue for teaching kids how to swim, as well as a great recreational activity for kids and adults. It’s highly needed and much appreciated and used by the community.”
Whiting says there are more fun summer activities to come at Wildwood Park like a drive-in movie, so check in with the recreation office for more information.
Swimming lessons start July 8.
The pool was closed following the summer of 2009 due to low usage and high costs.
