The Batavia City School Board is holding a budget hearing tonight at 7. It’s the last time to learn more and voice concerns before the budget vote takes place May 21.
Late last month, the Board approved the $42 million budget which results in just a two percent tax increase despite raising the budget five percent higher than this year. The District was able to keep the same programs and activities offered to students this school year, despite no new state aid.
The Board of Education Audit Committee will also meet at 5 in the Central Administration Conference Room No. 49 at the high school. Following the budget hearing which starts at 7, the Board will be holding a regular meeting at the High School Library. The public is welcome to attend both meetings and also speak at the budget hearing.
