It’s common to have changes in weather patterns in the spring between warmer and cooler days, but typically not this late in the season.

Today, Genesee County is experiencing a low of 36 and there is a Freeze Warning in effect from midnight tonight until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

“You need to watch your plants," Meteorologist Dan Kelly of the National Weather Service in Buffalo said. "In Genesee County we’re expecting lows right around the freezing mark. Some locations actually might get below freezing tonight.”

Potted plants should be movied inside and vegetation outside should be protected.

Kelly says Tuesday's low will be considerably warmer in the low-to-mid 40s. Wednesday, we’re looking at much more spring-friendly temperatures in the 70s.
