A volunteer selling newspapers for charity was struck by a car this morning in the intersection of Main and Oak Sts. in Batavia.
The unidentified woman suffered a compound leg fracture, according to Batavia Police Officer Eric Hill.
The woman was taken from the scene by ambulance to the Genesee County Airport where she was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.
Hill said the victim was selling copies of the Buffalo News for “Kids Day” an annual fund raising event for Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.
