Two Young Genesee County Residents Facing New Grand Larceny Charges
Two young Genesee County residents already accused of stealing from a barn in Pavilion last July have been charged with another felony count each of grand larceny.
18-year-old Jamie Bachorski of Webber Avenue, Oakfield and 23-year-old Matthew Vandorn of Trumbull Parkway, Batavia, are facing new charges for allegedly stealing two dirt bikes from a home on Clipnock Road, Stafford last July in the middle of the night. At this time, only one of the bikes has been recovered.
The two were also charged with felony counts of grand larceny for allegedly forcibly entering a barn on Dillon Road in Pavilion last July and stealing several items inside.
They are due in Stafford Town Court May 9 to answer to the newest charges.
Level 3 Registered Sex Offender Jailed on $500,000 Bail in Genesee County
The City of Batavia Police Department has announced the arrest of a Geneva man who, it says, is allegedly responsible for sexually abusing numerous children in the City of Batavia and Genesee County.
The extensive investigation also involving police agencies from Niagara County and Erie County has resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old Sean Vickers. A level-three registered sex offender, Vickers is charged with first-degree Sexual Conduct Against a Child and first-degree Sodomy, both class B felonies.
Vickers was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail with bail set at $500,000. Warrants have been issued out of Niagara County for his arrest on two counts of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the first-degree.
BPD says other incidents of sexual abuse are being investigated in multiple jurisdictions with more charges coming pending the completion of these investigations.

City GOP Endorses Council at-Large Slate
The City of Batavia Republican Committee has announced the results of their endorsement meeting held April 23rd. Securing the endorsement for the three City Council At-Large seats are Eugene (Geno) Jankowski, Jr., John Deleo, and incumbent, Brooks Hawley. This slate of candidates represents an excellent mix of experience, enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
Brooks resides in the City with his wife Rhiannon and their three children: Kelsey, Troy & Quinn. He serves as the Recreation Director at SUNY Geneseo and is completing his first term as an At-Large Council member.
Geno is a retired Lieutenant from the City of Batavia Police Department and resides in the City with his wife Leanne. He has two grown children, Bryan and Jennifer, along with a grown stepson, Nate.
John is a retired N.Y. State corrections officer currently serving as a security guard at Batavia Downs Casino. He lives in the City with his longtime partner Debbie Kulikowski. Together they have four grown children.
