The City of Batavia Police Department has announced the arrest of a Geneva man who, it says, is allegedly responsible for sexually abusing numerous children in the City of Batavia and Genesee County.
The extensive investigation also involving police agencies from Niagara County and Erie County has resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old Sean Vickers. A level-three registered sex offender, Vickers is charged with first-degree Sexual Conduct Against a Child and first-degree Sodomy, both class B felonies.
Vickers was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail with bail set at $500,000. Warrants have been issued out of Niagara County for his arrest on two counts of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the first-degree.
BPD says other incidents of sexual abuse are being investigated in multiple jurisdictions with more charges coming pending the completion of these investigations.
Any one with information about other possible abuses committed by Vickers are asked to contact the City of Batavia Police, Genesee or Niagara County Sheriff’s Offices or your local police department.
