A Batavia man has pleaded guilty before a U.S. District Judge to transporting a teen girl in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activity.

The charge against 29-year-old Timothy Logsdon surfaced last September when the parents of a missing 16-year-old girl alerted the sheriff’s department that she may be with him. Eventually, the two were found in Kentucky, after law enforcement officers traced Logsdon’s cell phone activity. He admitted to them that he and the girl were planning to go to Tennessee to live together and carry on a relationship.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, and fine of 250-thousand dollars or both. Sentencing is scheduled for August 5.
