A Town of Batavia man has been charged with Reckless Endangerment.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say 44-year-old Gregory Snyder of West Main St. fired a 12-guage shotgun towards the road and hit his neighbor.
The unidentified neighbor was hit with a BB from the 12-guage bird shot. He was not injured.
Snyder said he shot a fox he believed was injured.
Snyder could face additional Environmental Conservation charges.

A Silver Creek man is the first person in New York to be prosecuted under the state's tough new assault weapons ban.  Officials say Benjamin Wassell is charged with twice selling assault weapons banned by the SAFE Act to an undercover police officer.  One of the weapons Wassell allegedly sold was an AR-15 assault rifle with a pistol grip and bayonet mount.  He is also accused of selling the undercover officer several high capacity ammunition clips.

A new bill is being pushed in Albany that would ban children from gun shows in New York State.  Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal would bar children under the age of 12 from entering a gun show in the Empire State.  Rosenthal says society has placed reasonable restrictions on children watching violent films or playing video games, but they currently have unfettered access to gun shows.

The woman accused of illegally buying guns used in the Webster fatal shooting last Christmas Eve is now facing federal charges.  Dawn Nguyen of Greece has been charged with knowingly making a false statement in connection with the gun purchases.  She's accused of buying the guns for William Spengler, who authorities say fatally shot two West Webster firefighters in a Christmas Eve attack as first responders came to a fire at Spengler's home.
