It was all a hoax.
The alleged abduction of a 14-year-old Batavia Middle School student by an unknown man in a black van – was made up.
Police said the entire incident was fabricated by the girl in order to alter the facts about where she really was.

In LeRoy, residents of the school system are left to wonder why their school superintendent suddenly quit.
Cindy Herzog, who has been the superintendent of LeRoy Central for the past three years, resigned late on Friday, effective immediately.
The Board of Ed in LeRoy has named Dr. David DeLoria interim superintendent – a position he held just before Herzog was hired.
It is school Election Day. Voters are heading to ballot boxes in all Genesee County School Districts today deciding the fate of school budgets for the coming year. There are also elections to boards of education.

Accused murderer Scott Doll will take the stand in his own defense this morning.
The defense began its case yesterday. Doll is charged in the February, 2009 beating death of Joseph Benaquist.
Judge Robert Noonan has said that the trial is ahead of schedule, and may go to the jury as soon as Wednesday afternoon.
Plans for a concert by a famous rock star this summer have fallen through in LeRoy.
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his band will not be playing a concert in LeRoy, despite the efforts of LeRoy’s Rotary Club and the LeRoy Business Council.
Bon Jovi’s official website had never listed a concert in LeRoy for this August. Reports had indicated the concert would happen then.
