 A Winter Storm warning has been posted for all of Western New York beginning at 1AM Friday and continuing through 5AM Saturday.

The National Weather Service warns of heavy snow mixed at times with sleet.
Some areas of Western New York could get up to 12 inches of snow while 4 to 8 inches are forecast for Genesee County.

A Village of Perry police officer is accused of killing his own son.
Michael Leach is charged with second degree murder in the fatal shooting last July of his 37-year-old son Mathew. 
The two were staying in an Adirondacks motel at the time. The older leach said he had mistaken his son for an intruder and shot him with his service revolver.
Michael Leach pleaded not guilty yesterday during his arraignment in Herkimer County Court.
Authorities have not commented on a motive or evidence that led them to charge Leach with murder.
Leach is a retired Rochester police captain and had been working as a part-time officer with the Village of Perry Police.

A Batavia woman has been arrested for allegedly passing dozens of bad checks.
Jodi Coe of Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road is now behind bars in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Deputies say Jodi passed 41 bogus checks at various locations in the City of Batavia and Town of LeRoy.

25-year-old Cassie Ann Schutt of Rochester has been charged with allegedly stealing $328 worth of merchandise from tghe Batavia Kmart.
When store security approached her, Cassie Ann allegedly took off running. Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy Tim Wescott chased her down in the Tops parking lot.

New Yorkers can find out if they are owed some of the state's 12-billion dollars in unclaimed funds.  Representatives from Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's office will be on site at events throughout the month to help New Yorkers find out if they are owed money.
