The planned $123 million hockey-themed development on Buffalo's waterfront is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to purchase the parcel of land directly north of First Niagara Center from the city for more than $2 million. The deal has been sent to the common council for approval.
The project is expected to include two indoor ice rinks, a premium hotel, restaurant and retail space, and more than 800 indoor parking spaces. Groundbreaking is expected to take place next month.
