A Winter Weather Advisory posted for Genesee County and all of Western New York until one o’clock this afternoon.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a snow and sleet mixture accumulating 1 to 2 inches.
Then we can expect a coating of ice.
But temperatures will gradually warm up.
Later today the high should reach 41, tomorrow’s high 51.
Batavia Police make a felony drunk driving arrest.
62-year-old William Raschi of Conesus was stopped on East Main Street Saturday night.
Police say he was drunk.
Lawmen also found that Raschi had a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years.
A Pennsylvania man has been arrested in Corfu on a gun charge.
64-year-old Richard Farley of New Bethlehem, P-A, was a passenger in a car stopped for suspected traffic violations in Corfu.
Deputies say Farley and others in the car drinking, lawmen also found marijuana and an unregistered 22-caliber semi-automatic pistol. Farley was taken to jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
Two young men from Livingston County are charged with boosting $20,000 worth of merchandise from the Tractor Supply Store in Geneseo.
22-year-old Zachary Kobylanski of Leister worked at the store.
Livingston County Deputies say Kobylanski took merchandise from the store and sold it on Craigslist.
19-year-old Tyler Flynn of Retsof was arrested for being part of the caper.
Kobylanski was sent to jail on a charge of Grand Larceny. Flynn was released on lesser charges.
The Batavia City Council is holding a special business meeting tonight.
There are three procedural measures the council must approve to stay on track to pass a budget on time.
Action tonight will introduce a local law to raise water rates, another will introduce a local law to establish the new garbage plan and another will schedule a public hearing on the budget itself.
There will be no votes on any of those measures.
Council has also scheduled an executive session.
The special business meetuing and executive session is sceheduled to be followed by a conference meeting to discuss sidewalk snow removal, the ban on assault rifles and railroad safety.
