A Rochester man with multiple run-ins with the law was sentenced to 1-to-3 years in state prison in County Court Monday morning.
Benjamin Santiago Jr., 23, formerly of North Lyon Street, Batavia, was arrested in October on warrants for second-degree bail jumping and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The sentence for bail jumping will run concurrent with his most recent sentence – 2 1/2 years for drug possession and parole violation.
Santiago admitted in May of 2012 to drug possession, but was offered a chance by Judge Robert Noonan at a reduced plea and no jail time if he completed a substance abuse program, which he failed to do.
Santiago was originally arrested at a Batavia motel back in June 2011 when he was one of three men in possession of 74 bags on heroin and cocaine.
