Despite Governor Cuomo’s call to action to improve public schools, New York State ranks near the top in the nation.
That’s according to information from Education Week. Maryland tops the list evaluating student success followed by Massachusetts and New York.
Nevada has one of the worst public school systems in the nation. Education Week ranks the SilverState in the bottom three, along with South Dakota and Idaho, as having among the worst overall policy and performance grades.
The rankings are based on the chances of a student's eventual success, funding, education standards and overall achievement.
