A freeze watch has been posted for Genesee County tonight through tomorrow morning.
A Freeze watch means that conditions are right for sub-freezing temperatures to occur.
The low in Batavia reached 30 degrees early this morning.
The freezing temperatures, of course, can damage or destroy young vegetation.
Dave Russell is a Master Garden at Cooperation Extension in Batavia.
Interviewed by WBTA News this morning, Russell talked about:
- steps home gardeners can take to prevent damage
- how one common remedy can actually cause more harm than good
- how to get help directly from Cooperative Extension
Listen to Russell's responses here:
If you have specific questions about your home garden, Russell says you can call Cornell Cooperation in Batavia at 343-3040.
