Don't look for any investigations into election rule-breaking in New York State.
State Board of Elections officials confirm the state's one investigator to handle any cases of alleged abuse of campaign finance or election law has retired and has yet to be replaced.
At one point, the board had six investigators, but now elections officials say they would have to call in State Police for such an incident. Many groups are furious over the news, saying investigators are needed as part of overall campaign-finance reform.
