Governor Cuomo is making changes to health insurance premiums across the state in an effort to save half-a-billion dollars.

The plan will cut the average insurer’s increase to 7.5 percent, which is lower than the usual average of 12.5 percent. This affects health insurance policies covering about 2.3 million New Yorkers.

According to Cuomo this move is the first of many steps his administration is taking to make health insurance affordable for all New Yorkers.
