The announcement probably wasn’t a shocker this morning. The Buffalo Bills in a one line statement announced that Head Coach Chan Gailey was being relieved of his duties. The announcement came just before 11 o’clock this morning. Gailey complied consecutive 6 and 10 seasons and finished 16 and 32 for his three year career as head coach. It is still unknown if General Manage Buddy Nix will retain his job. The futures of defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt, and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick are also in question. Gailey was the fourth NFL coach today to be fired . Gone are Andy Reid from Philadelphia, Romeo Crennel of Kansas City, and Pat Shurmur of Cleveland. Cleveland GM Tom Heckert has also been let go.
There are reports that Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith has been let go however an official announced has yet to have been made.
Also on the firing list are Jacksonville Jguars general manager Gene Smith and New York Jetgs general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
