A white Christmas for Batavia..?
The odds of that are very high.
Accu-weather meteorologist Todd Miner:
"We are expecting some snow to arrive just in time for Christmas Eve in the Batavia area, accumulating a couple of inches. So, I think the odds of a white Christmas are quite high - probably 90-percent."
A weekend snowfall left us with 3 to 4 inches of white stuff in Genesee County.
But not far away, along the Southern tier, places like Jamestown got over a foot of snow.
But…watch out for Wednesday and Thursday. Miner says the potential exists for a major storm that could dump 12 to 15-inches of snow on us by Thursday night.
Senator Chuck Schumer says the National Rifle Association is actually helping the push for new gun control legislation. The New York Democrat said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the NRA leader Wayne LaPierre's extreme position is so against what most Americans want that it's "turning people off."
Schumer said that LaPierre blames everything but guns and that trying to prevent school shootings without talking about guns is like, quote, "trying to prevent lung cancer without talking about cigarettes."
