New York State's unemployment rate is on the decline.
The state Department of Labor says the unemployment rate in November dipped to 8.3 percent, down from 8.7 percent the previous month.
The state's private sector added over 83,000 jobs in November. New York State's rate is still higher than the national unemployment rate of 7.7 percent.
The report says over the past year, construction has lost the most jobs than any other industry in the state, while professional and business services including scientific and technical and administrative and support services added the most jobs over the same period.
