A man who stole more than $500,000 from a retired Town of Tonawanda priest has been sentenced to between two and six years in prison.
Richard Kesick lied to the 91-year-old priest and told him that he was expecting an inheritance, and asked for loans until the money arrived. It turns out that Kesick was an unemployed gambling addict who used the money to feed his habit. Kesick tricked the priest into giving him money with lies that included saying that he needed ransom money to pay his kidnappers and to cover medical bills after he was stabbed.
