Governor Andrew Cuomo says he wants New York State to be the leader when it comes to public disclosure among state lawmakers.
Cuomo says he'd like to go even farther than New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's proposal to force non-profit groups engaged in political activity to disclose donors.
The governor wants to target companies and entities outside of New York, too, that seek to influence public policy in Albany. Cuomo says Empire State residents demand and should have transparency when it comes to government.
