Starting Monday, farmers can take advantage of the H-2A program electronically.
The H-2A program allows guest workers to apply for visas. Putting it online grants farmers access to up-to-date information, while streamlining and hastening the process to acquire guest workers for the important harvest season.
Representative Kathy Hochul – a major proponent of bringing the H-2A program online -- has worked to have the H-2A program also apply to dairy farmers. They are currently prohibited from the service because of the year-round demands of the industry.
