The Wellsville man facing criminal federal charges for attempting to defraud facebook must pay the social media giant $96,000. A federal judge ordered Paul Ceglia to pay the company for legal and travel fees.
Ceglia was indicted earlier this week on federal criminal wire and mail fraud charges and faces up to 40 years in prison. Prosecutors say the 39-year-old Ceglia originally had a contract with Mark Zuckerberg in 2003 where the current Facebook CEO would do coding work for Ceglia's website. Prosecutors say Ceglia doctored that contract to say Zuckerberg agreed to give him at least a 50 percent share in Facebook.
