A Batavia man is facing drug-related charges after the Local Drug Enforcement Task Force says they found heroin and cocaine in his car during a traffic stop.
Joe Wind, 42, of Horseshoe Lake Road is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. He was issued an appearance ticket.
Two Batavians are facing criminal contempt charges for violating stay-away orders of protection.
Melissa Betances, 31, of Pearl Street allegedly sent text messages to the person she was ordered to stay away from, and 23-year-old Brad Doward of Hall Street allegedly entered the residence of and called a protected person.
Both are set to appear in City Court Dec. 4.
Two overnight accidents in Orleans County lead to DWI arrests.
Just before midnight on Fourth Section Road, Jeremy Hodge, 27, of Holley allegedly failed to negotiate a turn, crashing his car into a ditch. Then, just before 5 this morning, 22-year-old Joseph Baillargeon of Rochester lost control of his vehicle on Holley-Bergen Road. He was taken to Lakeside Health System in Brockport with non-life-threatening injuries. Baillargeon could be facing additional charges pending blood test results.
Both were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Clarendon Court Dec. 17.
