Sometimes you can just be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The State Division of Parole was looking for someone who had an outstanding arrest warrant in the Town of Batavia. However, in the residence of that person they were seeking, officials found 31-year-old Patrick Spikes of Hutchins Street and discovered he allegedly didn’t show up for a County Court appearance this year. He is facing a bail jumping charge.
Spikes was remanded to Genesee County Jail without bail.
The State Division of Parole did not discover the person they originally set out to find at the residence.
A Batavia man is facing an assault charge.
31-year-old Timothy Backes of Summitt Street is accused of hitting a man in the face, fracturing his facial bones. The alleged incident occurred on West Main Street Road Oct. 21.
A Basom woman is facing petit larceny and criminal contempt charges.
27-year-old Melissa Morton is accused of stealing four PS3 video games from K-Mart without paying for them, valued at around $80. When confronted by store security she was cooperative and returned the items. However, at the store, Morton was in the presence of a female acquaintance she was ordered to stay away from. She was released on her own recognizance.
