Kathy Hochul lost her bid for re-election as the 27th District representative, but one man was willing to give her help in the polls, albeit illegally.

The FBI says a Buffalo-area reverend and lawyer approached a staffer of the Congresswoman’s campaign asking that she convince her husband to drop the criminal case against him if helps attract undecided voters. Hochul’s husband is U.S. District Attorney Bill Hochul.

James Lagona was recently convicted of heading a ponzi scheme. He is now back behind bars for a charge of obstructing justice.

Lagona’s website also describes him as a psychic, medium, healer and a trained and experienced exorcist.

Both Hochuls have not commented.
