The East Pembroke Fire Hall damaged by a small SUV that slammed into one of its front doors.
Police say the vehicle was east bound on Main Street in East Pembroke yesterday afternoon.
The driver passed out or fell asleep at the wheel, lost control, went airborne and crashed into the fire hall.
East Pembroke Fire Chief Don Newton says space has been provided by Ron and Newts Garage to house the department's trucks until repairs are made to the fire hall.
The unidentified woman driving the SUV was taken to ECMC with what were described as minor injuries.

The Pavilion Post Office will cut back its hours of operation starting in January.  The Postal Service is also reducing business hours at post offices in Mumford and Piffard. 
Come January the post offices will operate for six hours a day: 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning and 1:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon.

Some people think the big stink is back in Attica.
The state DEC seems to agree.
It says the new odor due to the faster rate that plastic and paper are separated from recycled glass.
The state says the new smell is not from the smoldering pile that wafted through Attica most of the summer.
The DEC says it will take action to alleviate this latest odor.

The Genesee County Board of Elections expects to complete the re-count of votes in the Batavia City Council race by the beginning of next week.
The election will hinge on absentee ballots
On Election Day, Democrat Laura Ricci lost by 42 votes to Republican Jim Russell for a council at-large seat. 
Republican Chair Dick Siebert said a count of absee ballots so far gives Russell an additional 13 votes. 
There were two city council at-large seats up for grabs on Election Day. Republican Brooks Hawley was the top vote getter and was assured of one of the two seats.

A Buffalo man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the brutal murder of his ten-year-old stepson.  Ali-Mohamed Mohamud was convicted of second degree murder for suffocating and beating the boy so badly with a rolling pin that his scull was separated from his spine.  The boy had reused to do his homework and ran away from home. Mohamud is a native of Somalia, and asked for forgiveness before he was sentenced.
