Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and challenger Republican Wendy Long conducted their first and only debate of the election last night.

The New York City attorney is down by roughly 40 points in recent polls and is viewed as a long shot as she seeks her first elected position.

The two owned starkly different views and sparred over contraception and abortion, job creation and the Obama administration.
