Church burglar John Cabrera is facing a maximum possible sentence of 21 years in prison after admitting to three felonies in County Court this afternoon.
The 22-year-old entered guilty pleas to felony counts of burglary and escape. Each of the three convictions carry a possible sentence of two-and-a-third to seven years. Each sentence could be served consecutively.
Cabrera was charged following a July 24 break-in into St. Paul's LutheranChurch in Batavia.
After he was arrested, Cabrera managed to escape from the Genesee County Jail, but he was captured before he could actually exit the building.
Sentencing for Cabrera is set for Dec. 4.
