Federal health authorities say that a nearby health care provider received shipments of a steroid suspected of causing a meningitis outbreak.
The Centers for Disease Control says the Rochester Brain and SpineCenter is among facilities in 23 states that received the steroid from the New EnglandCompoundingCenter in Massachusetts.
All the suspected batches have been pulled from use. The steroid was used in injections for back pain.
The outbreak of fungal meningitis has killed nine people. The CDC says there've been 91 patients in nine states as of Sunday.
