A Monroe County man is accused of stealing a Wyoming County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle at 2:30 this morning.
The sheriff’s deputy was standing outside the vehicle at the Arrow Mart in Perry when 22-year-old Jordan Herthum of Churchville allegedly took off in the marked patrol car.
Predictably, officers were able to find the car due to the onboard GPS system that exists in all Wyoming County patrol vehicles.
Herthum also has a blood alcohol content of .20 – more than twice the legal limit.
The vehicle was not damaged other than a few knobs to the radio dial.
Herthum is scheduled to return to Town Court Oct. 10.
