Gun control reform will be on the agenda for the next legislative session. Governor Andrew Cuomo said this week he plans to push reform in the State.
However, Senator Michael Ranzenhofer said the gun laws on the book are already strict enough in New YorkState. He said stricter firearms policies would only hurt those that use guns legally for sport.
“Obviously all the laws in the world are not going to prevent senseless tragedies that have a happened in other parts of the country. We really need to crack down on those that are using guns illegally and possessing guns illegally during the commission of a crime,” said Ranzenhofer.
Ranzenhofer said before stricter gun policies are made in New YorkState the current ones must be enforced.
