Bishop Richard Malone is working hard preparing to be installed as the 14th Bishop of Buffalo. Malone arrived in Western New York this past weekend and has been visiting many perishes throughout the area.
Malone said he is very excited to be assuming his new post. He said the first thing on his agenda is to travel throughout the eight counties of Western New York that make up the diocese.
“The weekend after my installation we going to be doing my first perish visitation in the Chautauqua area, celebrating mass with those folks, meeting with the member of the community all of those kinds of things. So a lot of traveling, meeting folks and listening to them will be the first priority,” said Malone.
Malone will also continue to lead the diocese of Portland. He will be officially installed as Bishop of Buffalo this Friday.
