The man suspected of burglarizing multiple homes across the County has been arrested.
Detectives monitored the man and arrested him after he allegedly broke into a home on Summit Street in Batavia Tuesday morning.
Genesee County Sherriff’s Chief Deputy Jerome Brewster says they believe the suspect is the same person who stole jewelry and other small items from homes in LeRoy, Batavia, and other parts of the County.
“This is a suspect in those crimes, and I’m fairly confident that we have him. I think we’re going to see a sudden end to those crimes being reported,” said Brewster.
The suspect was caught with the help of the community, and detectives from LeRoy and Batavia. Brewster said he was on parole and has allegedly been out of contact with his parole officer.
His name and the charges against him will be released following his arraignment in court.
