Byron-Bergen Elementary has a new principal. Brian Meister of Chili was named the new leader of the school.
Before becoming part of the staff he spent the last four years as an assistant principal of a middle-school in Spencerport. Meister said he is very excited to join the Byron-Bergen team.
“I’m just really excited to be stepping into the role of principal at Byron-Bergen to hopefully lead our kids into that next level of their lives, into the secondary and then on beyond that,” said Meister.
Meister received his Bachelors Degree in education from SUNY Geneseo, his Masters in literacy from SUNY Brockport and then worked as a teacher for several years before becoming a certified administrator.
Meister said he has big plans for the elementary school.
“My first and foremost goal is to really start to build partnerships with both the parents, teachers and the community as a whole really to engulf myself in the community to really find out what the core values of people are, but knowing of course that everybody’s ultimate goal is for their child to have the very best experience,” said Meister.
Meister said he plans to work closely with high school principal Aaron Johnson to ensure students are prepared well before they reach that level of schooling.
Meister is married with two sons ages 7 and 10.
