A 22-year-old man has been arrested after Batavia police said they caught him breaking into a local church.

John Cabrerra was taken into custody when officers responded to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Saturday night.

This was the latest in a series of break ins that have been happening at local churches this past month, including two on Saturday night.

Police are planning to analyze DNA evidence found at the scenes to determine if Cabrerra is responsible for any of the other crimes.

Cabrerra also faces additional charges, because while in custody he allegedly caused damage to the holding room and tampered with video surveillance cameras.
