An illegal immigrant admits he stabbed an Albion woman to death last year.
Now, 24-year-old Luis Rodriquez-Flamenco faces 25 years to life in prison.
Flamenco entered a guilty plea in Orleans County Court on Wednesday admitting he stabbed 45-year-old Kathleen Byham to death in the parking lot of the Albion Walmart last year.
Flamenco, in this country illegally from Honduras, was apparently attempting to steal Byham’s car.
Batavia man is jailed for allegedly threatening to a kill a person.
34-year-old Michael Buzzell of Lewis Place is facing charges of Menacing and Criminal Possession of a weapon.
Batavia Police say Buzzell was holding a knife and threatening to kill a person police described only as “an acquaintance.”
Buzzell is locked up in lieu of 5-thousand dollars bail.
Union employees of Medina Memorial have approved a new labor contract.
The contract covers just over 300 workers at the hospital, a nursing home and outpatient clinic.
Some positive job numbers for Buffalo Niagara and the Rochester region. Rochester gained 92 hundred new private sector jobs over the last 12 month period ending in June. That's the second highest among the state's metro areas. New Employment numbers show the Buffalo and Niagara areas gained 43-hundred jobs in the last year, almost a one percent annual growth rate.
Genesee County was not so fortunate.
The figures show Genesee County lost jpobs at a rate of point-8 percent annual rate.
