An Alexander teen heads to court today after leading lawmen on an over 100-mile-per-hour chase.
On Sunday, County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations on Wortendyke Road in the Town of Batavia. But the driver bolted, and headed South towards Alexander.
Deputies say chase speeds reached 102 miles per hour before the driver simply pulled over just 4 miles later on Pike Road.
16-year-old Chester Case was discovered behind the wheel. He was also found in possession of marijuana.
Case was cuffed for Fleeing a Police Officer and a possession charge. He faces a host of traffic violations in the Town Courts of Batavia and Alexander.
An Elba teenager is jailed after a weekend manhunt.
17-year-old Christopher Laird has been on-the-run for a violation of probation. On Saturday evening, Laird was cornered at a Village of LeRoy residence after LeRoy Police received a tip on his location.
Laird has been arrested and committed to Genesee County Jail.
Laird has been previously convicted on a burglary charge. On Friday, he sparked a foot-chase near State Street in Batavia involving several law enforcement agencies. A police chopper was even put in the air to search for him.
A high driver brought down by County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The sheriff’s department received several reports yesterday of a driver forcing other cars off the road on West Main Street in the city.
An abandoned vehicle found parked on West Main Street led to the discovery of 34-year-old Jeffrey Good, inside his nearby residence. Good was high on drugs and found in possession of suspected narcotics.
It was determined that he’d been the erratic driver.
Deputies arrested Good on a pair of drug charges and misdemeanor Driving While Ability Impaired.
Good is due in court on May 3rd.
An Allegany County man says his dog distracting him was the chief cause of a car accident that sent 3 to the hospital.
46-year-old Scott Ellis was driving on Short Track Road in the Town of Portage yesterday, with his four-legged friend in the car. Authorities say Ellis drifted into the opposite lane, causing an oncoming driver to swerve to avoid him.
Ellis’ truck collided with the car driven by 46-year-old David Jenkins.
Jenkins, his eight year old son Ben, and 39-year-old passenger Renee Nichols were all taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. They are listed in satisfactory condition.
