A Batavia woman pled guilty to a felony count of grand larceny in Genesee County court Monday.

31-year old Deborah Schramm was originally charged back in April with five counts of offering a false instrument for filing and one count of grand larceny.

The charges came after her husband Michael Schramm filed for welfare benefits from the department of social services and both Schramm’s failed to report that he was working on a farm in NiagaraCounty.

As part of the plea deal Deborah Schramm faces up to six months in jail and must repay social services the $17,026.39 she wrongfully received.

Schramm will remain under the supervision of Genesee Justice until her sentencing in October.

Her husband Michael Schramm faces up to 3 years in prison as a second felony offender.
