A Notre Dame High School senior is headed for Alabama after winning the title of New York State Junior Miss.
17-year-old AlexSandra Morgan of Elba will represent New York at the United States Junior Miss competition. She says the idea is electrifying.
AlexSandra was the winner out of ten competitors on Saturday night at Buffalo State College.
Her 1st-place talent was a ballet pointe solo to Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies.”
Now, Alex moves on to the grand competition in June in Mobile, Alabama.
She says she’s confident in her abilities as she steps into the national spotlight.
AlexSandra’s future is certainly bright. She tells WBTA she’s been accepted to the University of Richmond in Virginia on a full scholarship. She says she’ll likely go there to study physics and mathematics. Alex plans on working towards a graduate degree in engineering.

It is wonderful to see that even if you are from a small town you can still win state championships. I am sure she is very very talented. I wish her the very best in the national pageant.
