The Genesee County Youth Bureau is looking for candidates to fill five vacancies on their board.
The Youth Board is seeking applications for people to represent Alexander, the City of Batavia, The Darien/Corfu/Pembroke area, Oakfield-Alabama, and the Pavilion-Bethany area.
Applicants must live in the area in which they're applying for.
The Bureau organizes programs for youth such as Reality Check and AmeriCorps.
Genesee County Youth Bureau’s Executive Director Jocelyn Sikorski said they are also looking for youth members as-well ages 13 to 20.
“The primary role of our youth board is to help with our annual allocation process and that happens once a year and that’s how we determine the funding that goes out to different programs in the community including municipal and rec. programs, our year round or summer and our contract programs, those are programs that operate for youth services in Genesee County.
The Genesee County Legislature will vote on the finalists who are chosen for the board.
The Orleans County Youth Bureau is also looking to fill two positions on their board.
If you are interested in becoming a board member you can contact the Youth Bureau office at (585) 344-3960.
