There will soon be more generic prescription drugs available for upstate New Yorkers.

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield announced Tuesday that 35 brand named drugs would become available in an alternative between 2012 and 2013.

The generic drugs will offer than $700-million in annual savings for the upstate New York area.

Examples of drugs on the list include Boniva, Singulair, and Cymbalta.
