Business First released it’s 2012 teacher pay rankings. It’s based on teachers salaries in the 98 school districts throughout Western New York.
The districts with teachers who are paid the highest are at the top and the lowest paid teachers in their districts are at the bottom.
All the schools in Genesee County ranked at 50 or below.
The Byron-Bergen school district had the highest paid teachers in the County though, coming in at number 50. District Superintendent Casey Kosiorek said the districts hope is that when teachers are paid fairly they do the best they can. He said they were pleased to hear where they ranked.
"We know that there are some districts in the region above us and behind us and we're looking at collaborating with our teachers and in districts around us to improve student achievement everywhere," said Kosiorek.
Business First ranked the Pembroke districts teachers at 51, Oakfield-Alabama at 55, The Batavia School district at 56, Pavilion schools at 83 and Elba's schools came in at 91.
The LeRoy school districts teachers being paid the lowest in the County they came in at 93.
