Large trucks could soon being paying more for driving on New York State Thruways.
The State Thruway Authority wants to increase tolls 45 percent for trucks with three or more axles.
The current toll for a three-axle truck traveling from Buffalo to New York City is about $88 with the increase it could go up to $127.
The authority needs more money for repairs and to shore up finances as the state looks to replace its Tappan ZeeBridge located near the big apple.
Before an increase is put in place the Thruway Authority will do impact studies and holds public hearings.
