The New York State Economic Development Council has named Steve Hyde as the developer of the year.
Hyde is the President and CEO of the Genesee County’s Economic Development Center with 20-years of experience in the private sector.

Hyde has spent the last ten years with the GCEDC where they have worked on more than 300 economic development projects that has generated over $610 million worth of capital investment and the creation of approximately 3,149 jobs in Genesee County. 

The GCEDC is currently working on multiple projects at Batavia's Agri-Business Park.  

Hyde said he was humbled to receive the award. 

“I was really very, very shocked and delighted and overwhelmed receiving the honor, but more then anything the honor is because there is just a great team of partners in the community that have really rallied behind the economic development strategy that we’ve put together,” said Hyde.

Executive Director of the NYSEC Brian McMahon said Hyde's strong and creative leadership has helped transform Genesee County into one of the state’s most promising regions.

Hyde was also was named vice-chair of the NYSEDC’s board of directors.
