The Ministry for Concern will be holding their annual walk for change this Saturday, May 5th. The walkathon will raise money for the low income families they assist in both Genesee/Orleans counties.
The Ministry is a middle man agency that help people across the county having trouble paying their energy or heating bills, who are in need last resort funding for food and those will are in need of clothing
Ministry Intern Christopher Bissell said but that's not all they do.
"We do a lot of last resort help for families in need, we have a furnature program where people will donate furnature and we have trucks of guys pick it up and deliver it. Then we have a just friends mentoring program that works with kids in need, we also deal with prescription medications," said Bissell.
The tag line for the walk is no child in our community should have to worry about where they’ll sleep tonight or when they’ll eat again. And Bissell said that’s just their mission.
The walk will begin at the Historic Mount Albion Cemetery in Albion at 11a.m. on Saturday sign in is at 10a.m. A minimum $15 will be accepted in oder to participate.
