A discount card for veterans made it’s debut in Genesee County Thursday. The F.A.V.O.R ID cards are being used in many counties across the state to provide many discounts on services and goods.
Many restaurants, pizza shops and local businesses across the county plan to participate in the program.
Genesee County Clerk Don Read said eligible veterans can receive the $3.00 card from the County Clerk’s office.
“In order to get it they have to first show that their DD214, Military discharge is already on record in our office or bring in their DD214 if it isn’t on record to get it on record,” said Read.
Read said the program is a way for our county to recognize and honor the service and sacrifices made by our veterans.
Veterans will receive a brochure listing all participating merchants when they sign up.
