A new law could require National Parks to only sell American products. State Senator Kirsten Gillibrand proposed a piece of legislaturel on Thursday entitled The American Parks American Products Act.
The bill would require the National Parks in New York State to sell only American made products at their gift shops.
Gillibrand said our National parks represent the history of America, so they should sell product stamped with the words "Made in America."
Right now there are 22 National Parks in the State selling gifts made in China, Indonesia, and other foreign countries.
Concession contracts with those companies generate over $1 billion dollars each year.
Gillibrand said that's money that could be kept in the country.
