We have been watching the level of the Tonawanda Creek all weekend and we can report this morning that that the water is receding.
The National Weather Service however, has posted a Flood Warning for the Tonawanda at Rapids in Niagara County. That warning is in effect until tomorrow night.
This morning, the Tonawanda was measured at 7ft. just behind the county courthouse. Minor flooding can occur at 9ft.

19-year-old Joseph Striegel of Main Road, Pembroke: he was arrested for Unlawfully dealing with a child. Sheriff’s deputies said Striegel allegedly supplied alcohol to persons under 21 attending a party at his place.
47-year-old Andrew Novak of Telephone Road, LeRoy:
He’s facing a felony count of drunk driving following a minor accident on Linwood Road yesterday.
Emergency crews met plane landing at Buffalo Niagara international Airport yesterday. This after the pilot reported a problem with one of the engine's anti-icing devices. The Comair flight from JFK Airport landed safely at about 11:45a.m. yesterday.The jet was carrying 53 people.
Thousands of New Yorkers are spending another morning in the dark in the hard hit borough of Staten Island.
Crews have been working to restore power from the massive nor'easter that uprooted trees, snapped tree limbs, and took down power lines.
Nearly 57,000 customers were without power.
The utility expects to bring back power and clean up from the storm over the next few days.
